The frogs will go up on you and your people and all your officials.'”ĥ Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’” So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs. If you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with frogs. Read this slowly so you catch everything that’s happening here:Įxodus 8:1-15 ~ Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, `This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. ![]() Let’s look at what they were dealing with … those poor girls were not the first ones to be invaded by frogs. It was putrid! After we were done ridding the house of all the frogs, I can remember thinking what it had to have been like in Egypt with the plague of frogs. A few of the frogs didn’t make it … it was horrible.Īside from the screams and mayhem in the house, I can remember the smell. So the two of us who were the only adults were forced to catch all these frogs. It was a nightmare! There had to be 40-50 frogs jumping all over the place! And, these girls weren’t about to touch them. Suddenly I woke up to blood-curdling screams … frogs were jumping all over the place! The boys had caught buckets of big, fat, ugly frogs from the little ditch that ran in front of our house, brought them into town, opened a window to the house and let them loose knowing it would scare the girls. There were about 15 girls all camped out at a friend’s house, sleeping anywhere they could find a place to sprawl out. ![]() We would have the whole youth group meet at our house to spend the evening with a campfire until the wee hours of the morning and then the girls would leave to sleep at another house in town while the guys camped out – about 10 miles apart. We had a large yard out in the country and the guys loved camping out there. Years ago I was youth leader at our church in KY. Not for me! Ha! Just not my cup of tea! Youth Group Nightmare ![]() We used to travel to Illinois for a visit and the guys would always go froggin’! They’d come back with these big old fat ugly frogs and she would fry frog legs – for some they’re a delicacy. ![]() She had frog statues and figurines all over her yard! Reminds me of my husband’s cousin in Illinois … her entire house is filled to the brim with frogs – every shape and size! Amen and amen! Frogs Everywhereįrogs? When we lived in Columbus, our neighbor was obviously in love with frogs. Help us to receive Your Word with gladness, to digest it, and to assimilate it into our everyday lives. In Jesus’ precious name, and ultimately for His glory we pray …. Father, help us to glean all that You have for us today. Help us to perceive what the Spirit is saying to us through Your Word. Bless us, Lord, with conviction that leads to cleansing and repentance. Let’s pray as we look into the Word:įather, as we go to the Word today we ask that You open our eyes of understanding, open our hearts to receive Your Word, Your counsel, and Your wisdom. I pray He will speak to you through His Word as we bring a personal application to this. This may strike you as a bit of a strange topic, but it’s something God really ministered to me and may prove to be an important word from God to you personally as well.
